Ashleigh Banfield? She's welcome to the grave she dug for herself. I know how she ended up at ABC and when she leaves she better expect that women aren't going to come to her rescue and revive her career. It was input from women that got Banfield her ABC job. It was their lobbying that got her the job. She was over, she was history.
And she thanks the sisterhood by insisting she can't comment on ("cast aspersions") Nir Rosen's actions. Why is that?
She's part of the circle jerk. So she's going to cover for him.
When you say someone who was sexually assaulted had it coming, you've more than earned criticism.
And when Ashleigh Banfield can't call it out? She's encouraging every man who thinks that way. Every man who thinks that a woman has it coming just got the green flag from Ashleigh Banfield.
What a proud moment for her.
As for Joan Walsh?
Thank you, Joan. I was uncomfortable with Nir's repeated comments about Lara Logan being White.
As a Black woman, I am used to certain stories about attacks on women of my race minimizing details because of our race. I heard the same thing from Nir Rosen but towards White women. Skin color doesn't matter. Victims of sexual assault are victims of sexual assault.
Thank you, Joan Walsh, for saying what she said because I'm not sure I'd be blogging about it tonight if you hadn't. I felt that way but I really thought, "Oh, Marcia, this is something only you're feeling. You're going to get a ton of e-mail asking you what you're talking about. Is it really worth it?"
Lara Logan did not deserve to get sexually assaulted. No one does -- man or woman, Black, White, Asian, Latino, have you.
The fact that she is blond or White has nothing to do with how much outrage we should feel. The sexual assault was outrageous and that is what people are offended by.
People like Nir Rosen, creeps, want to grab any excuse to justify their endorsement of sexual assault and he latches onto the fact that Lara Logan is White.
He's full of s**t. Anderson Cooper also deserves strong praise. So to I say thank you to Joan and to Anderson.
