I would love to write about anything other than Riverdaughter. But she's such a damn idiot. Today, she wrote about Hillary and I really was pulling for her, hoping this would be the time the idiot could write a post worth reading. First speed bump in "Friday: I know, I know, you should have voted for Hillary"?
I can almost hear Chris Hedges and his Puritan posse winding up to blame Hillary for this. Wait for it. You know it’s coming. Yes, they’ll say, Obama has been a disaster and a disappointment to them, but if the war doesn’t end, it’s all Hillary’s fault.I don't what the idiot's problem with Chris Hedges is but she never knows what she's talking about when she talks about him. Hedges is no fan of Hillary or Bill's. But he's never made the argument -- I've never heard it -- that Hillary and Barack are the same. In fact, I heard him argue in 2008 -- and you can read his news book as well -- that Hillary was actually slightly to the left of Barack. He didn't support Hillary, no. But he never argued against her on Barack's behalf.
Chris Hedges supported Ralph Nader. (I voted for Ralph in the general election. I supported Hillary in the primary. I also joined with Wally in spending several weeks in Kentucky and Indiana and elsewhere to campaign for Hillary. And, let me repeat, every state Wally campaigned in was a state Hillary carried. If you'd seen him speak -- and I did -- you could see why. He dropped out of college to go all over the country campaigning for Hillary and did it for months and months. I only used sick time and vacation time. And Wally would move the crowd. He was amazing. He would talk about how Florida is his home state and how they turned out to show they backed Hillary and how they were now being told that their delegates wouldn't even be seated. Wally would tell them that they needed to do it for Hillary but if they had any doubts on voting day that maybe their vote didn't matter or count, vote to show support for all the people in Florida who were being stripped of their votes. I've badly summarized the basics of his speech. He did a wonderful job.)
What is Riverdaughter's problem with Chris Hedges? Her whole point in bringing him in her Hillary post is to insist that 'unlike Hedges and those people think . . .' But Chris Hedges has never argued that Hillary and Barack would have been the same. Why does that idiot insist upon sliming Chris Hedges?
She's so damn stupid. The reality is that the Cult of Barack thought they could bully Chris Hedges into supporting Barack. He refused to do so. I know that because they were bullying three prime targets at the same time and C.I. passed it on to us. The other two caved and did come out for Barack. Chris came out for Ralph Nader. And before he did publicly, C.I. let us all know Chris was supposed to be coming out for Ralph and, if he did, C.I. would prefer it if we didn't say anything bad about Chris because he was going to get attacked for his position.
And he was attacked. Tom Hayden publicly ridiculed him, to name but one example. So I don't get why the idiot Riverdaughter attacks Chris Hedges. He never claimed Barack and Hillary were the same -- I guess reading is too difficult for Riverdaughter -- and he didn't support Barack. He supported Ralph Nader.
I try to be nice to the idiot. Her Thursday post? She's yammering away about abortion and then suddenly slams Joe Lieberman.
I don't care for Joe Lieberman's War Hawk positions. However, if I'm writing about abortion, I would probably need to note that Joe Lieberman is rated 100% by NARAL. That Joe Lieberman's long record is one of support for choice. (I disagree with him on parental notification -- he voted for it, I am against it.)
I try to be nice. But Riverdaughter's such a damn idiot. Such a damn idiot. We can't afford it
Here's C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
