What show did I watch this season and not write about? Ringer. Why didn't I write about it? The CW adopted Fox's stupid policy of waiting 8 days until you could watch online.
I hate that policy. I have no use for it.
At Hulu this week and at the CW, you can watch the latest episode. This coming week is the season finale. So Tuesday you can catch it on the CW over the airwaves. I will because I'm not going to wait -- even for next day, for streaming. Sarah Michelle Geller stars as Bridget and Bridget's twin Siobhan and it's been a roller coaster ride all season long.
Ringer fans should refer to Betty's "Ringer and other things" from earlier this week.
I don't understand the CW at all.
CBS is awful about streaming shows. I expect that next season, I won't be able to stream Unforgettable for example. But they're not so stupid -- for the most part -- that they wouldn't stream the show in the first season to push up awareness and viewers.
(Not so stupid for the most part? As soon as the new show 2 Broke Girls was a hit, CBS stopped allowing full episodes to stream.)
Unforgettable. This week, Carrie and Al got a little closer to being more than co-workers. They were romantically involved years ago. Al's girlfriend just broke up with him and told him (off camera) that he was still in love with Carrie.
I don't know about that romance. I like it more as a possibility. Al already thinks that because he's Carrie's boss he can order her around (in fairness to Al, it's often when she's breaking the rules). (In fairness to Carrie, his being worried about her doesn't give him the right to order her around or try to.) I'm not sure I could take them as a couple if that was still going on.
I like both characters. But as friends, Al can be heavy handed. If they were more than friends, I think that would grate on my nerves if he was still being as bossy.
As always, Jane Curtain was wonderful on the show. I'm so glad they added her to the cast. She always supplies a burst of energy when she shows up on the show and I always sit up straight to catch every moment. She only had one scene this episode. Poppy Montgomery is always great in the lead role and I think Dylan Walsh plays his part very well as well.
I wish I knew the new female character's name. She's the computer expert. She's very good as well and goes a long way towards helping the cast stand out. No offence to the actors who play the other characters -- two men and one woman -- in the police squad but they really didn't stand out on their own. The youngest male stands out now due to his crush on the computer expert. And we're slowly getting to know the female cop and a little faster, due to the subplot about the teenage son, getting to know the older cop.
