Elaine Brower of World Can't Wait was speaking and she noted Barack's claim that he will put the troops out (Afghanistan and Iraq, I think), "I don't believe that and I don't think anyone else does."
She observed, "In 1971 there was a very strong antiwar sentiment in the country and Nixon was frightened by the Pentagon Papers coming out. I believe that the White House is frightened because they don't want to see an anti-war movement like we had in the late sixties and early seventies."
And she advised, "It's important to get it out to the public. The public is asleep. This is a lot to handle." And that's it for me because I'm going to sit and enjoy the rest of it. (I've got some ice cream that I was saving for this. A pint of chocolate, chocolate chip.)
Oh, she just pointed out, "We don't tolerate the killing of civilians." That was after noting how some on the left have dismissed the WikiLeaks video of the killing of Iraqi civilians.
Here's C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
