My favorite Peter Gallagher film?
While You Were Sleeping.
Where he's in a coma for pretty much the whole movie.
He was playing Whitney's father.
And he apparently stopped at Ellis Island for every ethnic tic he could grab.
I don't think he knows how not to overact.
And when Mom's already the mom from Malcolm in the Middle . . .
I don't think either of them are naturally funny. Kathy Najimy, as a parent or sibling, would have me rolling in the aisles. But those two?
(The actress was better than Gallagher.)
The best moments of the episode were Whitney and Alex and I just wish there could have been a lot more of them and a lot less of Gallagher.
